PS3 selling in Malaysia

Well apparently if you'd been told, the PS3 Slim version of 120GB and 250GB are not in production anymore and will be replace with 160GB and 320GB. So what's the difference? Is just the Hard Disc Drive (HDD), that's all. The price? Well this I would like you to be the judge.

I live in Malaysia, and Sony Malaysia has officially launch PS3 Slim system here and selling 120GB and 250GB as well. Guess what's the price? Let me show you.

Well RM1300 for a 120GB black. For your information I get my white 160GB for only RM1200. UNBELIEVABLE? Well because of this.

Apart because of the warranty (which they'd mentioned that only respective country that you brought will have the warranty). So which means if I want to claim for a warranty I will have to go down south all the way? Nah I never bother that because if I were to fix it, I'll send over to my console's shop rather than Sony all thanks to the factory repair that will cost you a bomb.

The other reason why I heard is cheaper is because Singapore is a tax-free country, so the console that we get from there by bulk is FAR more cheaper than Malaysia that has a tax impose to some electronic stuff.

So next time if you want to buy a PS3, be sure to check on two things.

1) The region of PS3 itself (mine was Region 3, which is Asia. Asia includes Hong Kong, Malaysia, Singapore, etc)

2) Read the manual of the console and the look at second picture above (should be at the back of the box). See which country is your PS3 comes from and the power input. (Japan is 110V while Malaysia, Singapore and Hong Kong is running 220V)

When I was young, I'd play the SNES version of Mortal Kombat in my friend's house. I was like WOW. Now the wait is over. Is coming out real soon to satisty your 'Finish Him' and 'Fatality' craving. This time players can play tag team (2 character in a go). Some of the confirmed character which includes Scorpion (my favourite), Sub-Zero, Mileena, Johnny Cage, Sektor, Nightwolf, Reptile and Kung Lao. Mesmerize isn't it? Kungfu Rider and The Shoot

Can't get enough of Playstation Move? Here's another 2 title for you. In my previous post, you already watch the commercial of Playstation Move and Kungfu Rider. So what about The Shoot? Well I'm not sure what kinda things that you're going to shoot, I'll be more interested to shoot this one here. Sony fans, what are you waiting for? get your pre-orders for The Shoot and Kungfu Rider here. Don't forget your controller, gun and camera as well.

Synopsis for The Shoot (from Play-Asia) : Use the pinpoint accuracy and motion tracking of the PlayStation®Move to dodge attacks and take out the bad guys. From robots to outlaws, no villain on the set is safe. Bring a friend along for the ride to turn this shoot into a buddy flick. With five locations to shoot and unlimited bullets, you can bet this is going to be fun. It’ll take precise aim, mighty power moves, and a whole lot of bravado to pull this off, but that’s exactly why you’re playing.

Synopsis for Kungfu Rider (from Play-Asia) : Catapult your way through the wild, untamed city streets of a megalopolis as you use the PlayStation®Move motion controller to slingshot forward, smash through crowds of pedestrians, lock in air defying combo chains and karate chop your way to safety. Experience the heart pounding adrenaline rush of a high speed getaway as you ride your way to safety, grasping onto your PlayStation®Move motion controller to stay in control at breakneck speeds.

Here comes another solid title for the upcoming Playstation Move. This game is just intuitive that you play as a sorceror. While with your magic 'wand', swing around and solve the mystery using your 'wand'. Defend yourself with some of your magic using the 'wand' What 'wand' was I talking about? Your controller of course. Some of you might say that this is kinda similar to Harry Potter. Well if this two title is coming out for comparison, I'll definetely choose this one. Sorry Harry Potter fans.

Gran Turismo 5

One of my friend has brought himself a PS3 because of this upcoming game. Well I did play the GT on PSP before, it was real tough to get those license. Anyway this game is coming out soon enough on November 2010. If you look carefully on this page, the lower left part of the picture has show you some of the comparison between the simulation game and the real car (Click on the picture to see it for yourself). Can't get it out of your head? Pre-order yours now here.

Carnage Heart EXA

This is not a new game. Carnage Heart has come out from PS1 (Carnage Heart and Carnage Heart EZ) and PSP before. I never heard of this game before. Is a SLG (similar to SuperRobot Taisen). A little chemistry between SLG and Armored Core. This game can support 6 players on Ad-Hoc. Want to know more? Click here. In my opinion this game has never reach the shore of U.S. which is why this game is not so popular.

Synopsis (from Play-Asia) : Build your Robot, select parts to form the body, arms, legs and weapons. Then program the software chip that oversees your general battle tactics. How you prepare your mecha is the key to winning in Carnage Heart. After 15 years, the popular robot simulation Carnage Heart is back, this time on the Sony PSP. You follow the Taiwanese college student on a life-changing adventure. This time, your tactics is not the only thing tested in battle, your fighting skills will be very useful, so be sure to sharpen it before jumping in.

Tom Clancy's GHOST RECON Future Soldier

Lord of Arcana **UPDATE**

Are you a fan of Monster Hunter series in PSP? God Eater? Well Square Enix didn't want to lose a share of pie as well. Lord of Arcana, latest installment for PSP which looks similar to God Eater and Monster Hunter series. Well North America people can get real busy then since Bandai Namco games has announced that God Eater : Burst will get release next year almost same release as Lord of Arcana.

Final Fantasy XIV on your IPad/IPhone?

Well apparently this is true, they'd posted out the 'Alpha Test'. Well I'm not good enough to read the whole Chinese page (yea I'm a Chinese but I don't read and write) but I can literally understand abit about the content. Eventually you need an Application on the App Store called [TeamViewer]. I didn't have an IPhone/IPad so I couldn't try out the application. So what is written there is just you're playing the PC version, and when you'd syncronise your Login and Password using [TeamViewer], then you can use your little small Apple gadget to play. Whether your IPhone/IPad is the 3G or Wi-Fi support, as long you can login then you're good to go.

Since this is just an 'Alpha Test', how the communication input for the game are yet to be explained. On the other hand if you're getting yourself ready for the MMORPG for this upcoming Final Fantasy XIV, get your orders here for PS3 and PC. If you can't wait for the N.A. version then get the Japanese version for the PS3 and PC. Soundtrack has been out for per-orders too for field and battles track. Check it out.

*Update* - My mistakes. Only PC version is coming out on September 2010. For PS3 version is going TBA.

Moon Diver

If you'd play Castlevania : Harmony of Despair, this game from Square Enix is almost the same gameplay. 4 player co-op to beat-em-up the places. Unlike Castlevania where 4 players can roam any room they like, this one is playing together in a same place and stage. This game is coming out for Xbox Live Arcade and Playstation Network. So get your Microsoft Points and Playstation Network Card.

PS - Not sure will it come out in English Language, so as you all know if it is for Japan then you need to create a Japanese XBL and PSN accounts and buy their respective region points/cards. You'd been warned.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1

Ok so they'll come out with Part 2? Nevermind then. I'm not a fan of the series as well. If you are, check out the pre-orders for PS3, NDS, Wii, Xbox 360 and PC.

Synopsis (from Play-Asia) : Playing as Harry, you are on the run from the opening sequence, fighting for survival on a desperate and dangerous quest to locate and destroy Voldemort’s Horcruxes. You must defeat Death Eaters and Snatchers in epic battle sequences at every turn. With only your wand for protection, it’s time to muster your most powerful magic against relentless assaults from all sides. There are no more lessons, no more training. This time the danger is real. It’s time to fight your life.

FIFA 11 & DECA Sports Freedom

English Premier League has started since the World Cup ends. So we have brand new teams, players and moves as well. FIFA 11 is here for Wii, PS3, PS2, NDS, PSP and Xbox 360.

In the meantime, as you all already know that Kinect is coming out soon. HUDSON has come out a new DECA sport game title for it as well. As we can't tell how intuitive about Kinect but be sure that you'll sweat out. Check it out here. Make sure to pre-order your Kinect as well.

Synopsis (from Play-Asia) : DECA SPORTS, the hit sports compilation series that has already seen over 2.5 million units sold through worldwide on Wii™ and Nintendo DS™, is taking sports to the next level and to the Xbox 360 with 10 sporting events you play using your own body in DECA SPORTS FREEDOM! Spin, throw, and smash your way to victory across all of the included events: Tennis, Boxing, Archery, Paintball, Beach Volleyball, Dodge Ball, Kendo, Mogul Skiing, Snowboard Cross, and even Figure Skating!

Square Enix's third person shooters anyone. If you'd play Nier (PS3/Xbox 360) before, I can guess the element was almost the same. The story is different. It's written there that you're going into people's mind and shoot things. With some RPG feel, you can be sure you'll enjoy this game unless you're not interested on Nier before. Check out the pre-orders for both PS3 and Xbox 360.

Synopsis (from Play-Asia) : A new era. Sophisticated and complex technologies are now contributing to the advancements of mankind. However, the world’s governments are crumbling, new corrupt powers arise and conspiracies proliferate. The truth behind the proscribed technology could destroy the very core of humanity. Join a rogue team of agents as they fight for survival and entangle themselves deeper into the mystery.MINDJACK offers a unique online experience. Enter a revolutionary playing field upon which an engaging solo campaign transitions seamlessly to thrilling cooperative play. Expand your mind’s reach by “hacking” into enemies, vehicles or civilians and enjoy the freedom to control almost any character. Each bystander becomes an active combatant in this new urban warfare.Your “state of mind” is your only limitation!

Metal Gear Solid : Rising

Oh la la. What do we have here? It's Metal Gear Solid : Rising. This time is Raiden's turn to tell you some of the missing link from MGS2 and MGS4 (I haven't play MGS4 though). According to this magazine, this game was so intuitive that even cars, buildings and watermelons (yeah, the fruit) can be slice to half. Be prepared for some bloodbath and anything-chopping action adventure. The game also has a system called Bullet-Time which in a framed seconds you can chop something/anyone into how any actions that you can perform. So when you're done, do the maths... For the fans out there (ME ME ME!!!), check out the pre-orders for Xbox 360 and PS3.

PS - Check out the online version of MMO shooting of Metal Gear Online as well.

The Legend Of Zelda : Skyward Sword

Ah. The wait is over. There's another installment for the Zelda fans out there (including ME!!!). The first one was awesome IMHO. Using Wiimote and Nunchuk to swing/go around. It was hard at first but eventually we'll adopt to it. This time you need to use additional item which is the MotionPlus. I'd brought this thing as I know all the future games eventually will compulsary needed it to play.

Now you swing the sword like how you want to swing it. Slash to the left? Swing it to left. No more abnormal swing that we did on the first game ok? Use your shield? Take up the Nunchuk! For this is already interesting enough for me to get this game when it launch. So for those of you can't wait for it, pre-order it here.

Devils Third

Sorry folks. This is the second game that I saw only for PS3 and Wii (the first was Sengoku Basara 3). From the creator of Ninja Gaiden 2 and Dead or Alive, they bring you another third-person shooter/slasher. Some may claim from the picture that it is so similar to WET, well wait till it comes out only we decide.

Legends Of Troy

Same developer from Dynasty Warrior. So you know how's the game goes, but this time is going Olympus style. Check out the PS3 and Xbox 360 version.

Synopsis (from Play-Asia) : Three thousand years ago, a poet sang of heroes strong enough to stand alone against an army. For love, they sailed the world. For family, they made the greatest sacrifices. For honor, they stood and faced the will of gods,And fought a war which shook the earth. In the age when Zeus Almighty ruled over immortals and men, what begins as a truce between two cities quickly erupts into a massive war that will shake the very foundations of Olympus. Two great armies clash not over home and country, but for the love of a single woman. The fates of these civilizations now stand upon the razor's edge.

Well I didn't know that DIGIMON was still going on. With some previous title like this one, this is another installment that you can't miss it if you're a DIGIMON fan out there. Check it out here.

Synopsis (from Play-Asia) : The third (or fourth, depending on how you're counting the games) in the Digimon Story series, this game takes place after Moonlight/Sunburst.The evolution of Digimon is determined by the Evolution Tree, but this has been destroyed by a mysterious organization called the Selecters, who have been going around and "selecting" which Digimon get to live or die. The Tree is made up of plates, and if a plate is lost, no Digimon will be able to evolve into that form until the plate is replaced. However, along with the appearance of Selecters, all the Tamers in the world have disappeared mysteriously. It is at this time that you, the protagonist, journey to the Digital World along with your friends, who've stowed away/been kidnapped by the Numbers, a group within Selecters. With Digimon acknowledging you as a new Tamer, you are given the responsibility of saving their World, as well as restoring their Evolution Tree. The game holds many of the same raising mechanics as Moonlight/Sunburst, and also adds the repairing function, which you use to repair the plates you find before placing them on the Evolution Tree.

Marvel Vs Capcom 3

It was a hit on Arcade and Playstation 1/Sega Saturn. Then comes the second episode on Playstation 2/Dreamcast. Now the wait is over. The third installment will feed your appetite. Some of the confirm character which is Ryu, Wolverine, Ironman, Chris Redfield, Felicia, Morrigan, Dante and Deadpool. I'd the demo video on my Xbox 360 HDD but I didn't know how to extract it out for you all. In the meantime checkout the Xbox 360 and PS3 version and pre-order before anyone else.

Synopsis (from Play-Asia) : After a decade of waiting, iconic Marvel and Capcom characters join forces again in a re-envisioned team fighting game for a new generation. How to buy with Play-Asia if you're first time customer?

Apparently there's a guy message me via Facebook about Xbox 360 Slim. So if you're new and not familiar with online purchase in Play-Asia, do not fear. Here's the step-by-step guidance for new customers.

Let say you're interested on a console, say Xbox 360 Slim 250 GB 220v (Asia). This is what you can do on my page. You don't need to register FIRST. Registration will come along later when you're done shopping online.

1) You can click on the image for the item that you're interested or look for the 'search box for Play-Asia'  on left hand column and type on whatever item that you're looking for. You can also click on the link that I'd highlight for some item as well.

2) After you'd found your product, just click on the 'add to shopping cart'. Alternatively you can browse for options for your console by clicking on 'more choices'.

3) Now you'll be prompt to a new page and you can see your shopping cart from the right side. Let say you're done with your shopping then you can click 'checkout' or check your stuff with 'shopping cart'.

4) From here you can do your account registration by clicking on 'next step' for your new account or if you are a previous/regular customer just click 'login'.

5) For new customer you can check your stuff and proceed or you want to shop more you still can browse here. All the item that you'd in your 'shopping cart' will shows up. If you're done, just click 'next step'.

6) Then you'll be given choices of using which courier to send to your place. Click on it and continue.

7) NOW you can create your new account here and choose for your payment method. After that double-check your item, payment, shipping method, address, email and you're good to go.

8) After your confirmation, there'll be an email send to your email account for the receipt and confirmation.

There you go. Simple and easy step-by-step guide for your convenient needs of gaming stuff. Do drop a message or PM me via Facebook if you have any inquiry/unsure on how the thing works. Alternatively you can look at here for more understanding and reading for Terms and Conditions. Enjoy your shopping.

PS- This are some of my opinions/recommendation for your safety/convenient and to minimize your risk of losing your stuff.

1) Do check your information that you'd provided. Make sure every words and number that you prompt in are correct. If your address is too long, make sure you give your postcode as the courier/sender/postman can send your thing easier via postcode number.

2) Sometimes Play-Asia offers FREE shipping (you read it right, FREE SHIPPING) for some country. It takes longer and it can takes about 1-2 weeks to reach. The bad thing is you can't trace your item. SO IF YOU'RE ORDERING A CONSOLE OR ITEM THAT'S MORE THAN USD 60, I suggest you take international courier such as FEDEX or UPS. Not for easily faint-hearted people.

3) Everytime when you'd made an order with confirmation, immediately (less than 5 minutes) Play-Asia will send you a email of confirmation. IF you'd not received it, on HASTE email/call Play-Asia and check it out.

4) As claim by many people around the world, PayPal is the safest method for online transaction. Well if you don't have a PayPal account, credit card will do. Be sure that the item's cost is sufficient for your card/account to deduct just to be sure that no delays will occur for your product.

5) If you happen to shop around USD 50 or more, do PM me via Facebook if I have an extra voucher and I can personally give you a USD 5.00 discount voucher (limited time and first-come-first serve basis).

Why playing Xbox 360 is more expensive than PS3

Well I'll make it to the point and as short as possible. I was playing Super Street Fighter 4 for Xbox360 when I decided to go on Live and check it out. At my surprise not only you need to pay for the special costumes for the fighter via Microsoft Points (well is optional), but you need to become a GOLD membership then ONLY you can fight with other people around the world. Yeah the new Slim was nice I saw the real thing, but seriously Microsoft was too money minded.

Subscription fees plus points? Oh man, I do admit there are some Arcade games are pretty interesting, but PSN has it as well (mostly popular games are for all platform) AND you only have to buy the Network Card for the paid content and you can fight with other players around the world FREE...! On the other hand, chatting online for Xbox360 also requires GOLD membership, where PS3 was FREE...! This is the solely reason that I brought this PS3 Bluetooth headset instead of Xbox360 wireless headset although I'm not an owner of PS3 (hope it is soon enough before Christmas). PS3 has launched a new set of consoles with new 160GB (Black and White) and 320GB (Black only).

This PS3 Bluetooth headset not only for PS3, it is compatible with your cellphone using Bluetooth connectivity and desktop microphone as well (provided you have Bluetooth adapter on your PC and synchronize with it).

So if  you're thinking of playing online for a cheaper cost, you know which one to pick.
